Bhubaneswar: In a significant development ahead of senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 'Samvidhan Bachao' rally in Bhubaneswar, the Odisha Driver Mahasangha has decided not to obstruct vehicles carrying Congress leaders and workers to the state capital.

The assurance came after Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Bhakta Charan Das and several Congress MLAs requested the drivers' association to support the event by allowing free movement of party vehicles. The association responded positively to the appeal, promising full cooperation.

Odisha Driver Mahasangha president Prasant Menduli has urged all agitating drivers across the state not to stop any rally-bound vehicles.

The ongoing strike by commercial vehicle drivers has entered its fourth consecutive day, affecting the supply of essential items, petrol, diesel, and LPG to various parts of the state.
