Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police in the Odisha capital here has issued a traffic advisory in view of the scheduled visit of top Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge on July 11 (Friday).
As per the advisory, heavy traffic congestion is expected along several routes in the capital city due to the high-profile visit.
Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha, and Kharge, the AICC president and LoP in Rajya Sabha, are scheduled to lead a roadshow from Airport Square to Jaydev Vihar Square in the capital city here.
So, heavy traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Airport Square to Jaydev Vihar Square (via Hospital Square, AG Square, Raj Bhawan Square, Power House Square, 120 Battalion Square and Behera Sahi Square) from 10 am to 12 noon.
The two Congress leaders will address a public meeting at Baramunda ground. Traffic congestion is expected in and around Baramunda Square to Hotel Mayfair (via Jaydev Vihar Square) from 1.30 pm to 2 pm.
Both Gandhi and Kharge are scheduled to attend a meeting of the office-bearers of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) at its headquarters at Master Canteen Square in the afternoon. Due to this, traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Hotel Mayfair to Master Canteen Square (via Jaydev Vihar Square, Behera Sahi Square, 120 Battalion Square, Power House Square, Raj Bhawan Square, AG Square and PMG Square) from 3 pm to 3.30 pm.
Similarly, traffic congestion is expected on the stretch from Master Canteen Square to Airport Square (via PMG Square, AG Square and Hospital Square) from 4 pm to 5 pm.
The Commissionerate Police has advised the commuters to plan their route accordingly and take alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
