Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled the Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047 at an event in the capital city here.

The Prime Minister also launched several initiatives of the Union and state government on the occasion.   

Modi along with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and other dignitaries unveiled the Odisha Vision 2036 & 2047 at a public meeting at Janata Maidan, organised to mark the first anniversary of the BJP government in the state.

The BJP government has formulated the vision document to make Odisha a developed state by 2036, the centenary year of its formation.

The government has set a target to develop Odisha as an economic powerhouse with a $ 500 billion economy by 2036 and $ 1.5 trillion economy by 2047, the centenary year of India’s independence.

On the occasion, the Prime Minister launched the ‘Baraputra Aitihya Grama Yojana’ of the state government.

Under the scheme, the state government will develop the birthplaces of eminent personalities of Odisha.

It will also take steps for the holistic development of the native villages of such personalities. The state government will spend around Rs 19,000 crore for implementing the scheme.

Modi also unveiled a booklet on the Godabarish Mishra Adarsh Prathamik Vidyalaya scheme of the Odisha government.

Under the scheme, the state government will set up a model school in every panchayat of the state to provide quality education to students. The authorities concerned are now preparing a detailed project report (DPR) in this regard.

During the event, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stones for at least 105 infrastructure projects worth Rs 18,653 crore in the state.  

He inaugurated 45 projects worth Rs 9,011 crore and laid foundation stones for 60 projects worth Rs 9,642 crore in Odisha.

Besides, the Prime Minister launched seven railway projects worth Rs 2,756 crore in the state.

He also flagged off as many as 100 EV buses under the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT), that provides public transport services at several urban areas of the state.
