Bhubaneswar: Around 5 lakh small investors, affected by the chitfund scam in Odisha, will get their money back within a few months.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed the authorities concerned to take the necessary steps in this regard.

“Five lakh small depositors will get their money back within three to four months. The authorities have been asked to take the necessary steps in this regard,” said the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in a statement today.

The state government, under the leadership of Majhi, has introduced several measures to expedite the refund process and ensure justice for the duped investors, added the CMO.

The authorities have restituted funds worth over Rs 47 crore to altogether 1.26 lakh small investors in the state in last one year.  

As per the government data, funds worth Rs 119 crore were restituted to altogether 2.79 lakh small investors in Odisha between 2014 and 2024.
