New Delhi: The condition of the 15-year-old girl who was allegedly set on fire by miscreants in the Balanga area of Odisha’s Puri district on Saturday morning remains critical.
According to a medical bulletin issued by AIIMS New Delhi, where the girl is currently undergoing treatment, she is in a critical state and on oxygen support. She was airlifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar to AIIMS New Delhi this afternoon.
The girl, who sustained 75% burn injuries, was received by the hospital at 4:20 PM and is currently admitted to the Burn ICU in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Block. A team of doctors is closely monitoring her condition, the bulletin stated.
The Odisha government has announced that it will bear all expenses for her treatment.
Meanwhile, the police investigation into the incident is ongoing to identify and apprehend the culprits. Odisha DGP YB Khurania visited the spot today and reviewed the progress of the probe.
