Bhubaneswar: A 45-year-old man and his five-year-old son died after they were bitten by a venomous snake in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
The deceased have been identified as Harekrushna Mukhi and his son Kisan Mukhi of Baghada area under Suliapada block in Mayurbhanj.
As per reports, a venomous snake bit the father-son duo while they were sleeping in their house last night.
They were immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition. However, the duo was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.
It is worth mentioning here that a brother-sister duo died of snakebite in Balangir district on Monday. The deceased were identified as Mehek (3) and her brother Dhuke Shyam (7), children of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Malgodam Pada within Balangir Town police limits.
As per reports, the siblings were sleeping on the floor after coming back from the mosque when they were bitten by a venomous snake late in the night. Family members rushed them to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital at Balangir. However, they were declared brought dead.
