Fire breaks out at college in Jagamara area of Bhubaneswar, 65 students rescued

Bhubaneswar: A fire broke out in the auditorium of a private college located in the Jagamara area of Bhubaneswar today, triggering panic among students and staff.

The incident occurred on the second floor of the college building. Fortunately, the fire was brought under control by the Fire Services personnel, said TK Babu, Fire Officer, Central Range.

Around 65 students, who were present on the third floor at the time, were rescued safely by Fire Services personnel, the official said.

While no major injuries were reported, one student complained of uneasiness due to smoke inhalation and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, he added.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A detailed investigation will be conducted to determine the source of the fire.
