Cuttack: In a sweeping triumph that has put Cuttack firmly on the global academic map, Sri Sri University (SSU) has surged into the spotlight by securing top global and national positions in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025. It is a moment of glory not just for the university, but for Odisha and India as a whole, proof that a values-based, future-facing institution nestled along the banks of the Mahanadi can lead the charge in redefining global education.

The Impact Rankings, the only international framework that assesses universities against the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), saw participation from over 2,500 leading universities out of a staggering 50,000 institutions worldwide. In this fiercely competitive arena, Sri Sri University emerged as a global force.

The most striking accomplishment of Sri Sri University came under SDG 2- Zero Hunger, where it was ranked an incredible 70th in the world. From organic farming to sustainable food initiatives, the tireless efforts of the university in addressing food insecurity are now being recognized on a global scale. Not stopping there, SSU was ranked within the Top 200 worldwide for SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 15 – Life on Land, lauding its robust educational framework and its dedication to environmental preservation.

But the impact of SSU ripples further. It also earned Top 300 global rankings in SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), showcasing its commitment to critical sustainability infrastructure, innovation and community outreach.

Back home, Sri Sri University emerged as one of the Top 25 universities in India based on its SDG performance. With a 5th place national rank in Zero Hunger, 13th in Quality Education, 10th in Life on Land, and 22nd in both Clean Energy and Partnerships for the Goals, SSU has firmly established itself as a frontrunner among Indian institutions in sustainable development and impact-driven education.
