Bhubaneswar:Â In view of the Ratha Yatra, Bahuda Yatra, and Sunabesha celebrations at ISKCON Temple in Bhubaneswar, the Commissionerate Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory to ensure smooth vehicular movement and hassle-free participation for devotees.
The religious events are scheduled to be held on June 27, July 5, and July 6, respectively. A huge turnout of devotees is expected around ISKCON Temple, prompting the police to impose traffic diversions and restrictions in the surrounding areas.
Traffic Restrictions for Ratha Yatra (June 27) and Bahuda Yatra (July 5)
Heavy Vehicle Ban:Â Starting from 3 PM on both days, heavy vehicles approaching from the Khordha side will not be permitted to use the service road towards Fire Station Square until the chariots have crossed CRP Square.
During this period, vehicular movement will be restricted on the following stretches:
1. From DAV School, Unit-VIII to Mausimaa Mandir and CRP Square.
2. From CRP Square towards ISKCON Temple.
Additional Restrictions:Â Vehicles will also not be allowed on the service road from the Kasturba School side and the Nayapalli underpass side heading towards CRP Square until the chariots have passed.
Traffic Restriction for Sunabesha (July 6)
No vehicles will be permitted to travel from CRP Square towards ISKCON Temple from 5 PM until the end of Sunabesha Darshan.
Exemptions
The police have clarified that these restrictions do not apply to emergency service vehicles such as police, fire, and ambulances.
Commissionerate Police has advised the public to cooperate with the regulations and plan their travel routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
