Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.

"The Low Pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal persisted over the same region at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 02nd Sept 2025. It is likely to become more marked over the same region during next 24 hours. It will move west-northwestwards thereafter across Odisha during the subsequent 24 hours," the agency said in a bulletin.

The IMD has issued Red Warning for Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda for today. It has issued Orange and Yellow Warning for several other districts as well.
