Bhubaneswar: Heavy rainfall is on the cards for several places in Odisha for three days due to low pressure that formed over the Bay of Bengal today.
According to IMD, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal at 0830 hours IST of today, the 26th June 2025. It is likely to move west-northwestwards across north Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Under the influence of the system, heavy downpour is likely at many places, especially northern and western regions of Odisha.
The IMD has issued rainfall alert for several districts for three days starting today.
June 26: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Deogarh, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Angul and Dhenkanal.
Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
June 27: Heavy Rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda and Kandhamal.
June 28: Heavy Rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Bargarh.
