Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik's health condition is stable following a minor surgery, informed his elder brother Prem Patnaik.
In a video message today, he shared updates about ailing BJD supremo's health condition post surgery for cervical arthritis at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
"He underwent a procedure yesterday and he is doing very well," Patnaik said.
"He is walking a little bit a few steps to the bathroom," he said informing more about his sibling's health condition post procedure.
Patnaik expressed his gratitude to people of Odisha and everyone for their concern for Naveen Patnaik and hoped for speed recovery.
"I am sure, with all your good wishes, he (Naveen) will have a very speedy recovery," he added.
BJD chief Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Odisha and five-time former Odisha Chief Minister, had a successful surgery for cervical arthritis at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on June 22 (Sunday).
The procedure was carried out under the supervision of renowned cardiologist Dr. Ramakant Panda, who is also Patnaik's personal physician.
The surgery, which lasted nearly two hours, was conducted by a team of experienced surgeons in the presence of doctors from the Asian Heart Institute, informed Dr. Panda after the procedure yesterday.
