Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor Partha Sarathi Ray courted legal trouble following his arrest on grounds of violating court-mandated conditions by the State police today. The young Odia star of 'Hello Arsi' fame was taken into custody on the basis of a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by a JMFC (Judicial Magistrate of First Class) court on grounds of non-compliance of legal protocols regarding his ongoing divorce proceedings. He was arrested by Badagada Town police and produced in court as part of the legal procedure.
As per report, Ray was skipping court summons, prompting immediate judicial action. Sources said the court directed police to act without any further delay as mandatory conditions were being violated by the actor.
No official statement has yet been issued by Ray or his legal team regarding the arrest. While he had evaded his legal entanglements previously in public, his arrest has brought him back under the spotlight.
Gaining fame as a trailblazer in Odia cinema, Ray had begun his cinematic journey in Bollywood with films like Ajay Devgn’s Toonpur Ka Superhero and Subhash Ghai’s Cycle Kick apart from commercials and advertisements. However, a longing to come back to his roots compelled him to return to Odisha where he debuted in Nai Separi Kanak Gori under Rajshree Productions banner.
Ray was conferred with the Best Actor award at the 29th State Film Awards for the 65th National Film Award winning Odia Film, Hello Arsi, which won three National Awards.
