Bhubaneswar: In view of the Odisha Bandh called by the Odisha Congress on July 17, the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has postponed the preliminary examination for the posts of Sevak/ Sevika and Tribal Language Teacher (TLT), which was earlier scheduled for the very day.

"It is hereby informed that in view of the Odisha Bandh called by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee on 17.07.2025, the Preliminary Examination for the posts of Sevak/ Sevika & Tribal Language Teacher (TLT) scheduled only on 17.07.2025 is hereby postponed until further notice," the OSSSC said in a notification. 

"However, Preliminary Examinations scheduled on all other dates vide Notice No. 1333/OSSSC dt. 17.06.2025 remains unaltered. Candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission at regular intervals for further updates," the notification added.

The Odisha Congress has called for a statewide bandh on July 17 to protest the alleged harassment of Soumyashree Bisi, a 20-year-old student of Fakir Mohan (FM) Autonomous College in Balasore, who attempted self-immolation and later succumbed to burn injuries at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
