Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall as a low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha during the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.

"The upper air cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal adjoining West Bengal and north Odisha coasts lies over north Bay of Bengal and extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and Odisha during the next 24 hours," the agency said.
