Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of the Odisha government has asked the principals as well as the teaching and non-teaching staff of the colleges to strictly adhere to the seven-hour duty rule.
The Regional Director of Education today wrote a letter in this regard to the principals of all government and government-aided colleges in the state.
In the letter, the Regional Director of Education mentioned that several cases of violations regarding the seven-hour duty rule for college staff have come to the fore.
Besides, the letter also highlighted irregularities in the mandatory biometric attendance system for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the colleges.
The Regional Director of Education pointed out that some college principals are violating the seven-hour duty rule.
“Some principals are violating the rule themselves but are hard on other employees who do the same,” read the letter.
As per the letter, some principals and other employees often remain absent in colleges without intimating anything to the appropriate authority.
The Regional Director of Education has asked the college principals to adhere to the rule and guide other employees in this regard.
