Bhubaneswar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Odisha’s Bhadrak today arrested a person on charges of pelting stones at Howrah-bound Jan Shatabdi Express (12074).

The RPF received a complaint regarding the stone pelting incident that took place between Randia Boudpur and Bhadrak stations. A window glass of coach no. D/13 of the express train developed cracks due to the stone pelting incident. However, no one was injured in the incident.

The RPF officials swung into action and launched a track-side search operation in the affected section. One suspect was detained and subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Railway Act. The accused will be produced before in the court of SDJM, Bhadrak for further legal proceedings.

The RPF, meanwhile, reiterated its commitment to ensure the safety and security of railway passengers and urged the people to report any suspicious activity through Rail Madad or the Railway Helpline Number 139.
