Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to visit Odisha for two days starting July 14.

The state government held a preparatory meeting in this regard at Lokseva Bhawan in the capital city here today.

As per the itinerary, the President will arrive at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in the capital city here from New Delhi in a special aircraft of the Indian Airforce in the afternoon of July 14.

She will attend the fifth convocation of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar on the same day.

The President is scheduled to attend the thirteenth convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack on July 15. She will also lay the foundation stone for the development of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School in the Silver City.

President Murmu is scheduled to grace the 600th birthday celebration of Adikabi Sarala Das by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad in Cuttack and present the Kalinga Ratna Purasakar-2024 before leaving for New Delhi in the evening of July 15.

The preparatory meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, held detailed discussions on security, route map, healthcare, fire safety and other arrangements for the presidential tour to Odisha.

The meeting also put emphasis on uninterrupted power supply to all the above said events. The authorities concerned have been asked to arrange electricity generators to meet any emergency situation.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahoo and Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania among others were present at the meeting.
