Baripada: In a shocking incident, a youth sustained grievous injuries after he was reportedly hacked on the street by miscreants in Baripada town of Odisha's Mayurbhanj district here today. The attack took place in full public glare at Station Bazaar within Town police limits in the morning.Â
The victim, identified as Muna Yadav (25), was shifted to the district hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.
Muna, who hailed from Aurangabad district in Bihar, was working as a salesperson in a foreign liquor shop at Station Bazaar since two months.Â
On Wednesday around 8.30 am, he was on his way to the shop when two miscreants suddenly intercepted him and attacked him with a knife. The accused then fled the scene as Muna sustained serious injuries and collapsed. Locals rushed him to the hospital in a critical state but doctors later referred him to SCB MCH in Cuttack.Â
Official sources said the victim sustained injuries on his hand. His health condition is now stable. efforts are on to track the accused and establish the motive behind the brazen attack, they informed.
