Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Wednesday assured that the Ratna Bhandar, the sacred treasury of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, will remain structurally safe for the next 100 years. He informed the ongoing repair work at the treasury is nearing completion.

“The restoration is being carried out with utmost care to ensure the structural integrity of the Ratna Bhandar,” the Minister stated.

He added the repair work is in its final stages and is expected to be completed before Bahuda Yatra, as per the deadline set by the state Government.

Harichandan further informed an inventorisation of the valuables stored in the Ratna Bhandar will be undertaken once the repairs are fully completed. This process will begin after Niladri Bije, the ritual marking the return of Lord Jagannath and His siblings to the sanctum sanctorum.

The Ratna Bhandar consists of two chambers: the Bhitar Bhandar (Inner Treasury) and the Bahar Bhandar (Outer Treasury).
