Bhubaneswar: For the second consecutive day, the Indian Railways has cancelled or partially cancelled several trains due to ongoing restoration work between Malliguda and Jarati stations under the Waltair Division.
The restoration efforts are underway to remove mud and boulders that blocked the tracks following a landslide on July 2. The landslide occurred on the Koraput-Kirandul line as a result of continuous heavy rainfall in the region.
Railway officials informed heavy earth-moving machinery, along with adequate manpower and materials, has been mobilised to expedite the restoration process. Senior railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), are present at the site to monitor the operations.
The following trains have been cancelled or partially cancelled:
- 18107/18108 Rourkela-Jagadalpur-Rourkela Express from Rourkela on 03.07.2025 and from Jagadalpur on 04.07.2025 will remain cancelled.
- 18448 Jagadalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express from Jagadalpur on 04.07.2025 will remain cancelled.
The above trains have been cancelled for rake adjustment.
- 58501/58502 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Passenger from both sides 04.07.2025 will run between Visakhapatnam and Araku and will remain cancelled between Araku and Kirandul.
- 18005/18006 Howrah-Jagadalpur-Howrah Samaleswari Express from Howrah on 03.07.2025 and from Jagadalpur on 4th and 5th July 2025 will run between Howrah and Koraput and will remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagadalpur.
- 18515/18516 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul-Visakhapatnam Express from Visakhapatnam on 03.07.2025 and from Kirandul on 04.07.2025 will run between Visakhapatnam and Koraput and will remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagadalpur.
- 08445/08446 Jagadalpur-Puri-Jagadalpur Rath Yatra Special from Jagadalpur on 04.07.2025 & 05.07.2025 and from Puri on 06.07.2025 and 07.07.2025 will run between Koraput and Puri and will remain cancelled between Koraput and Jagadalpur.
