Puri: In a heartbreaking incident, a college student lost his life after being hit by a Fire Services vehicle on National Highway-316 near the Chandanpur area in Odisha’s Puri district on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Swayam Subham Senapati, a 20-year-old final-year Computer Science student of SCS College, Puri.

According to sources, the accident occurred in the afternoon when Swayam was returning home from college on his motorcycle after attending classes. A Fire Services vehicle, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, collided head-on with his bike, leaving him critically injured.

He was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Puri, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

An investigation into the incident is underway.
