Cuttack: The Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (SOTET) 2025, which was scheduled to be conducted today across the state, has been postponed until further notice. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, issued a notification informing the decision to defer the exam.

As per the earlier schedule, the examination was to be held at 193 centres across Odisha on Sunday. A total of 75,403 candidates had registered to appear in the test.

“The Special OTET 2025 (Paper-I, Paper-II), which has been scheduled to be held on 20.07.2025, is hereby postponed until further notification,” the official statement by BSE Odisha read.

Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the examination have been deferred. Paper 1 is intended for teachers of Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for teaching positions in Classes 6 to 8. The test is aimed at in-service teachers who meet the required eligibility criteria.

The BSE has not cited any specific reason for the postponement. Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the official website of the board for updates regarding the rescheduled dates.
