The BJD candidate for Kabisuryanagar assembly constituency Latika Pradhan met party president Naveen Patnaik here this evening hinting that all is not well in this seat in the Chief Minister’s home district.

“I would file my nomination only after getting a green signal from the party chief,” said Pradhan after meeting the party president.

The announcement of Pradhan’s name as the party’s candidate from Kabisuryanagar in lieu of sitting MLA V Sugyan Kumari Deo had led to resentment within the BJD.

Though Ms Deo has said she was not interested to contest elections on age and health grounds, it has failed to convince her supporters in the party.

If the grapevine is to be believed Ms Deo is going to be issued with the BJD ticket for the Kabisuryanagar constituency.
