Law Minister’s vehicle hits 4-year-old boy in Odisha’s Rayagada, critical

Rayagada: A minor boy aged around four years sustained grievous injuries as a vehicle of the Law and Tribal Welfare Minister Jagannath Saraka’s vehicle hit the child today near Belakana village in Rayagada district.

The injured was identified as Nabina Gunulu, the son of Sudhir Gunulu from Dhepaguda village under Bissamkatak block and his two legs fractured. He also sustained injuries on other parts of his body in the fatal road mishap, a doctor treating him said.

The minor was rescued by some locals in critical condition and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.

According to a source, the Minister had gone to Kalyansinghpur village in the district earlier in the day to attend a programme of his party. The accident occurred when Saraka was on his way back.

The minor had come to the house of his maternal grandfather.

Tension erupted in the locality following the road mishap. After this, Saraka took the boy to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Rayagada town for treatment.

Reacting to this, the Minister said, “The minor came to the front of the vehicle all of a sudden.”
