Lawyers-cops spat: Orissa HC defers hearing till tomorrow

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court (HC) today deferred its hearing on the ongoing lawyers- police spat till tomorrow as the Crime Branch failed to submit a charge sheet in this regard before the court.

The HC also directed the State Government not to revoke the suspension order of three cops in connection with the incident.

Earlier on November 9, the Crime Branch had asked for six weeks of time for submission of the charge sheet. However, the court had denied it and directed the State investigating agency to submit a full-fledged charge sheet by November 12.

Meanwhile, a meeting was held between representatives of the High Court Bar Association and police officials under the chairmanship of DGP RP Sharma in Cuttack yesterday. However, no final decision was taken in the meeting.
