Cuttack: The long-standing tussle between police and lawyers in Cuttack is likely to come to an end as three cops involved in the alleged attack on a police official near Nua Bazaar here on August 28, sought unconditional apology before the Orissa High Court (HC) today.
During the hearing of a petition filed by lawyer Debi Prasad Patnaik, who was attacked by the cops, two Constables and a Havildar sought unconditional apology before the court. The bench of Justice Chittaranjan Das directed the police to prepare a guideline in this regard to avoid such clash in future.
On the other hand, the agitating lawyers will take a final decision on their agitation at a meeting of the High Court Bar Association to be held today.
