More leaders demand change of guard in Odisha Congress

The demand for a change of leadership in the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has grown shriller with a few former Congress MPs from the state, a freedom fighter and a former Congress leader meeting party vice president Rahul Gandhi in the matter, sources said.

jayadev jenaFormer Congress MP Anadi Das, freedom fighter Dolagovinda Pradhan and Trinamool Congress leader Aryakumar Gyanendra on Friday met Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and demanded a change of leadership in the Odisha Congress.

The leaders discussed the present state of Congress in Odisha with Rahul. They are learnt to have told Rahul that PCC president Jayadev Jena was responsible for the party’s debacle both in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.

They also blamed former Union minister Srikant Jena for the party’s debacle in the state, party sources said.
