Lecturer in Odisha Vigilance net for possessing disproportionate assets

Paralakhemundi: A lecturer in Gajapati district landed in Vigilance net on charges of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Vigilance sleuths of Berahampur Division conducted raids at residences of G. Nageswar Rao, a lecturer of Minaketan College at Gurandi in Gajapati district, in Paralakhemundi, Gajapati and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh today.

The simultaneous searches are underway at six different locations at his residence at Radhagovindanagar line-2 in Paralakhemundi, residence of his father at Badabrahmin sahi in Paralakhemundi, Market Complex at Betaguda in Paralakhemundi, his paternal house at Burujang village under Rayagada police limits in Gajapati, his father-in-law’s house at Chipurpali village under Meliaputi police limits in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh and Minaketan degree College at Gurandi in Gajapati district.

Sources said that the anti-corruption officials have recovered Rs 31 lakh cash during the raids. The lecturer is possessing a house worth over Rs 2 crore, luxury cars and he has many accounts in banks.

The value of his assets will be calculated after raids.
