436 Panchayats in Odisha have no high schools: Minister Samir Dash in Assembly

Bhubaneswar: There are no high schools in as many as 436 panchayats of Odisha, informed School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

Dash said this in the House of Legislative Assembly during Monsoon Session while replying to a question raised by BJP MLA Bhabani Shankar Bhoi.

“Odisha has a total of 8076 high schools and 436 panchayats have no high schools at all. However, existing upper primary schools in these panchayats are being transformed into high schools. Moreover, new high schools are being setup, based on requirements and with approval of the Central government, in some of the panchayats where there are no high schools,” the S&ME minister stated.
