Leopard hide seizure: Odisha police to take accused on remand

Deogarh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch will take three persons arrested in connection with the leopard hide seizure in Deogarh district on remand for four days from Monday.

The SDJM court here has permitted the agency to take the accused on a four-day remand.

Sachikanta Nayak of Sundargarh district, Ramanisen Behera and Jagnadutta Behera of Deogarh district were arrested by the STF at Barkote in Deogarh on June 20 and a leopard hide was seized from their possession.

They had procured the hide from poachers and were looking for buyers to sell it, police said.
