A leopard skin was seized from Podadiha under Kaptipada forest range in Similipal Tiger Reserve in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today and three persons have been detained on suspicion in this connection, informed Baripada District Forest Officer (DFO).

Local sources said Forest department officials have seized the carnivore’s skin and flesh.

Notably, the Tiger Reserve reopened today for tourists after it was closed on November 4 on account of heavy rains owing to low pressure forecast by the Weather department.
