Life sentence for killing wife

A local court here sentenced a man to life-long imprisonment for murdering his newly married wife in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.

Based on strong circumstantial evidence, Kendrapara district and sessions Judge Bijoy Ketan Mohanty Tuesday sentenced one Baikunthanath Mohanty to life imprisonment while convicting him for killing his newly married wife on June 1, 2012 in Dutiala village.

Mohanty had hacked his wife to death with a sharp weapon after eight months of marriage following a family feud, said the prosecution.
