Light showers, cool breeze halt normal life in Odisha

Light showers and cool breeze in the morning halted normal life in several parts of Odisha including capital city today.

According India Meteorological Department (IMD), thunderstorm/squall with hail occurred at a few places over coastal Odisha. The rain occurred due to the troughline from west Assam to north Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.

The thunder squall accompanied with hail, rain and wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph is likely to occur at one or two places over south Odisha and other districts of Angul, Jajpur and Kendrapara in next 24 hours, Bhubaneswar MeT said.
