Light to moderate rain or thundershower likely in Odisha districts on August 28

Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough, light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, IMD regional centre mentioned, “The trough from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Northeast Bay of Bengal between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level has become less marked.”

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 35.0oC was recorded at Paradeep and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.5oC was recorded at Nabarangapur in the plains of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts.

For Monday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 28.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 29.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.
