Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and a low pressure area, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Low Pressure Area over south Jharkhand & adjoining north interior Odisha and north Chhattisgarh now lies over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending up to 5.8 Km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height. It is likely to move westnorthwestwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours. The Monsoon Trough at mean sea level now passes through Ganganagar, Narnaul, Datia, Satna, the centre of Low Pressure Area over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood, Keonjhargarh, Balasore and thence southeastwards to Northeast Bay of Bengal and extends up to 1.5 Km above mean sea level.”

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 32.6oC was recorded at Rourkela and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 22.0oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.
