Lightning claims 3 lives in Odisha

Bhawanipatna, June 19:

Tragedy struck a family in a village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district today when lightning struck its home killing three members and seriously injuring two others, sources said.

The deceased have been identified as Padmini Rout (45), Jagyanseni Rout (32) and Mani Rout (8) of Kadalaibahali village under the Vairipalli panchayat.

Two other members of the family, Kshetra Rout (52) and Swapna Rout (6) who were also hit by the lightning strike were rushed to a local hospital. Both have sustained serious burn injuries, the sources added.
