Lingaraj Temple tableau to be showcased at R-Day parade in Delhi

Bhubaneswar: The Lingaraj Temple here and Rukuna Rath of its deity will be showcased at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi next year as a tableau of Odisha featuring the same has been shortlisted.

The Ministry of Defence has issued a letter to the State Government in this regard. Fabrication of the tableau will be carried out at Rashtriya Rangshala Camp in New Delhi.

While January 19 is the deadline for completion of tableau creation, full dress rehearsal will be held on January 23.

Noted sculptor Gajendra Sahu will design the tableau, reports said, adding that danseuses will perform Odissi on it. The tableau will feature replica of the Lingaraj Temple and Rukuna Rath.
