Litterateur Ramachandra Behera receives ‘Atibadi Jagannath Das Puraskar’

Bhubaneswar: Noted novelist Ramachandra Behera received the prestigious ‘Atibadi Jagannath Das Puraskar’ for the year 2020 today. During a function at Sanskriti Bhawan’s conference hall here, the Odisha Sahitya Akademi gave the award to Behera for his life-long contribution to literary world and felicitated 15 other litterateurs of the State.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi awarded Behera with Rs 5 lakh cash, a shawl and memento. Also, the 15 other litterateurs received Rs 1 lakh cash, a shawl and memento.

Litterateurs Debendra Kumar Das, Girija Shankar Sharma, Ashok Kumar Patnaik, Babaji Charan Patnaik, Baidhara Sahu, Jiban Krushna Mohapatra, Digaraj Brahma, Rudranarayan Prusty, Soubhagini Mishra, Swarajlaxmi Mishra, Krupasindhu Nayak, Nirmalaprabha Nayak, Raseshwari Mishra, Radha Binod Nayak and Maheswara Mulia were felicitated at the function organised by the Sahitya Akademi.

Among others, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Suresh Chandra Dalai, Director Ranjan Kumar Das and other senior officials were present at the function.
