Locals bust flesh trade racket in Odisha’s Balasore; 2 sex workers among five detained

Nilagiri: A flesh trade racket was busted by some locals today at Badambadi-Makhapada of Mardarajpur locality under Nilagiri police limits in Balasore district. A woman, two sex workers, and two youths were detained by the incensed locals in this connection and were later handed over to police.

According to a police source, the illegal activity was allegedly going on in a house in the village for the last several days. Sex workers from Bhubaneswar and Udala of Mayurbhanj district were being engaged in the flesh trade. Irate locals tied the two youths to a tree and severely thrashed them. One of the youths hails from Balasore and the other from Udala, the senior cop from Nilagiri PS stated.

On being informed by locals, Nilagiri police reached the village and brought the five accused to the PS for interrogation. Police have seized three motorcycles and a car and launched a detailed probe.
