Lockdown 2.0: Odisha CM discusses return of migrants with TN counterpart

Bhubaneswar: After holding video conferencing with Gujarat and Maharashtra Chief Ministers in recent past, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today discussed with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami about the return of Odia migrants stranded in the southern city due to lockdown. He also requested the Tamil Nadu CM to cooperate with the Odia migrants willing to return to Odisha.

During the video conferencing, the CM thanked the government of Tamil Nadu for taking good care of people from Odisha staying in Tamil Nadu. “We got very good feedback from camps. I am happy to see that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister himself personally visited some camps,” Patnaik said.

He requested Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who also attended the VC, to coordinate with the Centre for the safe retuen of the Odisha migrants.

Patnaik talked to some Odia migrants at a camp set up in Guru Nanak College in Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu CM assured Patnaik to provide all sorts of help to the stranded Odisha migrants.
