Berhampur: Imposition of lockdown for coronavirus outbreak will be relaxed in Odisha's Ganjam district from April 20, said Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange today.

"Movement of private vehicles for getting essential items will be allowed. However, pillion riding will be restricted on two-wheelers. Wearing of masks in public places will remain mandatory and fine will be imposed for spitting," the Collector said.

There will be no restriction on timing for sale of essential items. However, sale of gutkha, betel, tea and liquor will remain shut. Strict action will be taken against violators, he said.

Shopkeepers have been asked to ensure social distancing among customers, failing which action will be taken against them and the shop will be closed, he added.
