Lord Jagannath, siblings adorn Srigundicha temple; Adapa Abadha from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra were taken to the Adapa Mandap of Srigundicha temple from their respective chariots at Saradhabali in Odisha’s Puri city today.

The deities were taken to the Adapa Mandap through the ceremonial Pahandi procession.

The servitors first carried the idols of Ramakrushna and Madanmohan to the Srigundicha temple. They later carried Lord Sudarshan to Adapa Mandap.

Subsequently, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Jagannath were taken to the Adapa Mandap through ‘Goti Pahandi’ from their respective chariots.

“The devotees will be allowed to pay obeisance to the deities at Adapa Mandap from tomorrow (Friday). Adapa Abhada will also be made available for the devotees from tomorrow,” said an official of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

Notably, the deities had embarked upon their annual journey to Srigundicha temple by riding their majestic chariots on the Grand Road on the occasion of Ratha Jatra on June 20.

Taladhwaja chariot of Lord Balabhadra reached Srigundicha temple on June 20. However, Darpadalan chariot of Devi Subhadra and Nandighosa chariot of Lord Jagannath were halted midway.

The two chariots were pulled to Srigundicha temple yesterday (June 21).
