Love, sex and dhokha: Odisha doctor arrested for betraying woman

Boudh: Police have arrested a doctor working in Odisha’s Boudh district for allegedly betraying a woman after having intimacy with her on the pretext of marrying her.

The accused has been identified as Tapan Kumar Satpathy, a doctor at Kantamal Community Health Centre in the district. Cops apprehended Satpathy from a COVID healthcare facility in Boudh yesterday.

As per a complaint lodged by the woman with Berhampur Mahila police, Satpathy had befriended her on Facebook. Later, both developed a love affair with each other. The doctor established physical relation with the woman on the promise of marrying her, she alleged.

However, Satpathy tied the nuptial knot with another woman in 2019. The accused snapped relationship with the complainant this year, following which she came to know about his marriage.

On the basis of the complaint, police had registered a case against the doctor.
