Bhubaneswar: A triangular love story led to murder as a youth hacked another youth in front of his lover in Laxmisagar area in Bhubaneswar.

The incident occurred late on Friday night at Chintamaniswar area under Laxmisagar police limits in the city.

The deceased person has been identified as Anjan Behera.

According to reports, Pinku, who happens to be the lover of the girl, hacked Anjan with a sword while he was talking with his beloved.

As per an eyewitness, Pinku called Anjan for some talks last night while he was returning from Khordha. When Anjan reached the venue, found the girl with five other men including Pinku. Anjan and Pinku indulged in a heated argument during the talks following which the latter attacked him with a sword.

Following the incident, the accused and the girl fled from the spot.

The victim was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

The Laxmisagar police initiated a probe into the murder.
