Lovebirds rescued by police during raid in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Police rescued a young couple from a hotel during raid yesterday in Nayagarh district of Odisha.

During police interrogation, they were found as eloped lovebirds. They were on run to get married secretly as their families were not in favor of the relationship.

According to police, the youth from Kandapada village and the girl from Karadapala village in the district had arrived at a hotel under Ranapur police limits in the district yesterday afternoon.

The duo had booked one room to stay.

Acting on a tip off, police raided the hotel and rescued the eloped love couple.

As the couple were in love and their families did not give consent to their relationship, they were on run to get married secretly, informed a police official.

The girl is minor. Both will be sent for medical examinations and the law will take its own course, the officer added.
