Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area has formed over the Bay of Bengal and is likely to intensify into a depression around November 16, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its morning bulletin today.

"A Low Pressure Area has formed over Southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman-Nicobar Islands. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal around 16th November, 2023," the bulletin said.

Under the influence of the system, several districts of Odisha are likely to receive rainfall as the Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued Yellow Warning in this regard for November 16 and 17.

November 16: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Cuttack and thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj.

November 17: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri and Dhenkanal.
