Low pressure area likely to cause heavy rainfall in these Odisha districts today

Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to receive heavy rainfall today due to a well-marked low pressure area, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.

“The Well Marked Low Pressure Area over coastal West Bengal and adjoining areas of North coastal Odisha & Northwest Bay of Bengal now lies over southeast Jharkhand and adjoining areas of Gangetic West Bengal & north Odisha. It is likely to move further west-northwestwards during next 12 hours,” the IMD said in its morning bulletin.

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj,” the IMD predicted and issued Orange Warning for these districts.

“Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Khordha, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, and Nuapada and Kendrapara,” the agency forecasted and issued Yellow Warning for these districts.
