Low pressure brewing over BoB; Heavy rainfall likely to lash these Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: With a low pressure brewing over north Bay of Bengal, heavy rainfall may lash parts of the State in upcoming days.

According to Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, many places may record heavy shower from today till August 7.

Here’s weather forecast and warning for districts for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from August 2 to August 3 morning)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Warning: Heavy rain fall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Deogarh, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Cuttack and Khordha.

Day 2 (valid from August 3 to 4)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Warning: Heavy rain fall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Boudh, Balangir Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Angul and Sundargarh.

Day 3 (valid from August 4 to 5)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi and Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput,Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar, Boudh, Angul, Nuapada and Balangir.

Day 4 (valid from August 5 to 6)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Odisha.

Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Keonjhar and Heavy rain fall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul and Sonepur.

Day 5 (valid from August 6 to 7)

Forecast: Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Sundargarh and Deogarh.

Meanwhile, the low pressure system is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal on August 4.
