Low Pressure formed over Bay, rains to lash Odisha during next 48 hours

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed today over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood, the afternoon bulletin issued by the local Met Centre said.

Under its influence rain/thundershower would occur at most places over Odisha during the next 48 hours, the bulletin said.

The Met centre has warned of extremely heavy rainfall with heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in north Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places in Odisha during thr next 24 hours.

The surface wind speed reaching 45 to 55 kmph gusting to 60kmph may prevail along and off Odisha coast, the Met bulletin informed while advising fishermen not to venture into the sea.
